Made opening all different size jars very easy. The opener is not clunky for our arthritic hands. It opens different sizes but also gives you the ability to open cans with pull tabs which we always struggled with and it also has a bottle opener. I rarely have difficulty in opening jars, but bought this for my wife. Unfortunately, it’s very clumsy to use. Why there are two layers of “teeth” is hard to understand and is the cause of the problem.

Opening jars can be extremely frustrating, especially for those with weaker grip strength. The Otstar Jar Opener make the process so much easier, although as others have noted the jar twist part of the tool is really limited to smaller jars. In other words, it’s great for most of the world, but a lot of American products come in larger lids than the size options provided.
BUT – where this product shines are the hooks on the top edge of the tool. Those make it so much easier to open jars by releasing the air pressure when used on the top part of lids. I’m sure there are other tools which accomplish this task just as easily, but the process just felt much more simplified with this jar opener. I’m sure I’ll find more use cases for the rest of the tool eventually, but I found that just that part alone was worth the purchase.

The jar opener arrived as described and looks exactly like the picture. I have a family member whose hands do not function properly and has difficulty opening jars, so I thought this would perfect for them. I ended up purchasing four of these to give to other family members and my in-laws. I appreciate that there are several different size options all in one tool, making it easier to store. I have tested this on various jars and each time it is very easy to use; does not require much pressure or strength to twist the lid off (unlike a grippy mat). A stuck lid may take a few seconds to open with this tool. This is a must-have for anyone, as it makes opening things much easier while saving your hands. It is an excellent stocking stuffer, housewarming gift, or anytime gift, as it is affordable and very useful.

This has so far been useless for opening jars, I find it hurts my hands more to try to figure this thing out, than to just smack the jar a few times on the counter and use oven mitts with a good grip on them. And it doesn’t fit Any salsa jars.
However – it was absolutely helpful when I needed to removed the casing from a reverse osmosis filter…
Still took over an hour of struggling and invoking superman, but eventually got the damn thing apart.
I’ll keep it around, it might be useful for something again someday…

I recently broke up with my boyfriend so I needed something else to help me open those impossibly tight jars. This worked fantastically! Way better than having a man around! No having to ask 3+ times, no complaining, no feeling like a weak damsel in distress – just put this little baby on the lid and BAM!! Who needs a man?? Not this girl!!
