We ordered this to replace our mushroom style drain catcher that was old and starting to fall apart. It was very difficult to clean and seemed to clog to a point of not draining fast enough all the time in a short time. This drain stopper is super easy to clean and has great flow. We have been using it for a few months now and it still looks like new.

I have ordered all sorts of these bathtub / shower hair catchers with some being better than others. I find those with suction cups work but often are easily detached. The one with a hook or long protrusion that can be inserted into the drain works best. Then it comes down to size of the holes, smaller the better to catch loose particles and hair. In review of this one, it fails on all counts. Hole are too large so everything goes down the drain. Then there is no suction or tab so just shooting water at it will cause it to lift off the drain. It is sturdy material and looks nice but it isn’t well designed. Just ok.

I have a fine mesh catcher that I use and that works well but it gets clogged and the drain stalls. I got this shower drain hair catcher to see how well it would work for me compared to the fine mesh one. I wanted to see if I this could work well so I won’t have to clean out the fine mesh catcher so easily.
I use this one on top of the other strainer to see how well it works compared to the other one. This one works well for longer pieces of hair but it is not as effective for shorter strands of hair that slip through sometimes. This definitely keeps me from having to clean out the fine mesh catcher as much as I used to. I’m not too crazy about the silicone ring. I wish they made it flatter because I wonder if hair slips under the silicone ring. It does work for longer strands of hair but I do notice shorter strands get through the catcher after a hair cut.
VIJAY K CHILUKURI –
Although this drain cover will work well in the shower, my use is quite unorthodox. I have a double bowling ball bag and the foot has broken (mainly because it’s plastic and takes a lot of abuse). So I needed a metal base for support for the metal ring that I’m going to replace the broken piece with. I just need to drill 3 or 4 holes into the ring to connect it. BTW the ring I’ll be using is actually a drain for a kitchen sink (this piece is just about the perfect height for the bag). This metal drain cover is pretty strong and the pre-drilled holes will make it much easier for my use. This cover also has a rubber gasket running around the diameter of the cover, which should cut down on noise and vibrations.

The hair catcher features a combination of stainless steel and silicone. This hair catcher is simple and effective. It’s just a flat, stainless steel disk with holes in in, with a gray silicone ring surrounding the outside edge. But as simple as it is, it works very well. The steel disk is heavy enough to stay in place in my shower, and the silicone ring helps seal the edge and keeps it from scratching the tub surface. The silicone ring has a bit of an extended ledge on one side, and is flat on the other side. I’m using the flatter side up.
The hair catcher seems to grab a lot of hair, and with the flat surface it’s very easy to just wipe across the top to remove the hair. I just grab the hair by hand without removing the hair catcher from the tub. Also, I’ve seen hair catchers with a little knob in the middle to make it easier to lift out. This doesn’t have a lifting knob, but I think I prefer that because that knob would be unpleasant if stepped on.
Overall, this works great, looks good and is reasonably priced. A five-star item for me.

These fit so perfectly & work perfectly. I washed my thick hair in the shower after braids & chile this helped so much. I usually try to catch it with my hand. Easy to apply. Easy to clean, caught all of my hair & functioned with my drain properly.
