When I ordered this it said it was for dogs. When I look at the advertisement now it still says it’s for dogs. They sent me a product made for humans. It even says in the instructions that it’s good for smoking stains. I’ve never seen a dog smoke, that doesn’t mean they don’t when we’re not looking, but it’s highly unlikely.
To add to the confusion though the product looks exactly like the one up above in the ad for dogs! Even the name on the product is the same. Everything that’s supposed to be in the box for dogs is in the box for people. So I’m kind of brave and I decide to use this on myself first then my dog! I wanted to know what I was getting him into and after all the box says it’s for humans! It makes a very low noise but when you touch your teeth it makes a high-pitched squeal. I have one tooth that tends to get tartar on the back of it and I barely touched it with this tool and the piece popped right off. It is effective!
Now my dog is a big boy, Australian shepherd to be exact. And he’s not always the best with new things so he didn’t like it too much. But when I did get him to relax and he realized it wasn’t actually going to hurt him even though it was making this crazy high-pitched noise the minute it touched his teeth, it actually worked pretty well!
I’m still not sure it’s made for dogs, but Ruger was ok with it. However, he only really let me do like two teeth at a time. So this is a multi-day process to get all his teeth cleaned. I’m sure if I do it about once a month after they’re all clean that it’ll be much quicker, but there was some buildup that we had to get rid of. All in all, it worked! Although the noise did freak him out a bit.

So this is a great tool for maintaining clean teeth and helathy gums for people or dogs. Yes the packaging is geared toward human use, but it’s no diff for your dog. Now if using this on your dog it will take some slow introduction and most likely repeated attempts as it takes some getting used to the ultrasonic vibrations and maybe the light.
I remember the first time I used an ultrasonic toothbrush and even on the lowest setting it felt like my nerves had been jolted by an electric shock LOL. And I could only use it for a minute or two, then would have to switch back to my old toothbrush. But I kept using it 2 or even 3 times a day for a couple weeks, then was able to extend the time with each use, then slowly at5 2 or 3 week intervals I went up through the levels for longer times.
If you have an external ultrasonic muscle massage device, using it by slowly running it over your dog’s body may help get them used to the type of vibrations before trying this. This does also emit a high fequency noise that if your dog isn’t used to may be unsettling. Again the massage device can assist them to get comfortable with it.
My big dogs used to detest the vacuum cleaner as a lot of dogs do, until I got them used to being brushed/groomed with it LOL. The point is go slow, make repeated attempts to introduce them to it but do so safely… You don’t get a dog or horse over being scared of or not liking something by never exposing them to it… you get them used to it/over it/even liking it by repeatedly exposing them in small doese/in a nice way to the stimuli until it’s no longer the scary thing anymore.
That being said, some dogs may never accept this no matter what you do. You’re not a failure as you have tried to do your best to do a good thing for therm. But some things just need to be best left to a veterinarian to handle by sedating the dog to safely and quickly do a dental cleaning. And if that’s what needs to be, so be it. If nothing else you can use it on yourself between dental visits.
So it comes with several diff cleaning heads that are easy to change with the included tool It also comes with the charger cord and manual tools. This has the built-in safety feature that it’ll only work and vibrate when touching a solid tooth, it stops working when it touches soft tissue. I like it and think it’s well made and a useful tool.

Ordered this for our big dog’s rather doggy teeth. They have a bit of staining and tartar and I thought I could help. I should have thought that through better. We have a very large Great Pyrenees so no one does anything to him without his consent. He is a very sweet fluffy gentle boy, but he has a rather definite idea of what is okay with him. That being said I was hopeful. When I got this I noticed it was very much geared towards use for humans. After all, the packaging even says it is great for cigarette, coffee, and tea stains. I don’t know many dogs who smoke or drink a nice cup of joe. Even so, I forged ahead. It comes with some sturdy tools, pointy end scrapers, a serious long tong like tweezer, a very short charging cord, and a dental mirror. The ultrasonic tool itself charges quickly. You hold the button for a long moment to turn it on and then use quick presses to move between the settings. Even at the most gentle setting my dog disliked this enough to not only give me side eye but jerk his head up. I tried a couple of more times. No better luck. Since this thing is sharp as can be as are the manual scraping tools, that could be dangerous. I noticed when it touched me it was almost hot and it definitely was uncomfortable. Then it was very obvious either our dog or I was going to get injured if I tried too many times so I quit. I am leaving this to trained veterinary professionals. Not trying again. The cleaner seemed to sort of work for a small spot, but for us it wasn’t a good idea at all.
