It’s a perfectly fine brush, but using it for food has been slightly annoying as the bristles do occasionally come out even after a pretty thorough initial wash. As I’ve been using it this problem has abated quite a bit, but the first few uses were annoying.

Lo usé para barnizar huevo en empanadas, pero las cerdas se desprendían y se quedaban pegadas en las empanadas 🙁

I bought this for cooking not baking.
Ive never owned a food brush before for baking or cooking so I figured for only a few bucks id give it a try.

I dont bake. I could burn freezer premade cookies. Ya im not a baker. Too many exact measurements and too much science for me lol

On the other hand I can COOOOOOOK 😍

I just got an airfryer basket style one and I wanted to do wings in it but i wanted to brine the chicken wings (coat in oil and kosher salt to seal in flavor and juices to keep it moist as it cooked). I used this brush to make the most PERFECTLY coated chicken wings that cooked to perfection by using this.

I had olive oil in a bowl then i dropped in about 10 to 15 wings tossed the bowl slightly then as I pulled each out to put into the airfryer basket i used the brush to coat every inch of the chicken wings with olive oil to ensure an even coating on all of them. Once all into the airfryer i used sprinkled kosher salt in the tops and used the brushes bottom bristles to dab the salt to evenly cover the wings.

I cooked them on 365 for 12 minutes in the air fryer then I used tongs and flipped them so all the chicken wings yummy juices that went to the bottom were now upside down working their way back up to the top. I then sprinkled kosher salt onto the bottoms that got flipped face up now and used the brush to evenly move the salt around (makes it so you dont burn your fingers doing it by hand). Then they went back in still on 365 in the airfryer to finish cooking

While they were finishing up I cleaned and sanitized the brush since it had been on raw chicken and now the chicken would be cooked. I didnt want any cross contamination for my 5 kids / family of 7.

When i pulled them out I took the brush and added more olive oil from a new clean bowl and used the brush to put a very thin light layer of olive oil onto the cooked chicken wings.

Finally I had everyone pick whatever wing sauce they wanted. I chose garlic parm. So i put a medium drizzle of garlic parm wing sauce onto my olive oil coated (very lightly coated – they were NOT greasy at all) chicken wings and finished up this delightful meal by using the brush to coat all sides, cracks, & crevises with my wing sauce so id have sauce in every bite without having to drown the wings in sauce to acheive a completely sauced chicken wing.

This brush is fantastic. I soooo see myself buying another.

I love thinking outside of the box when cooking like I did by turning an ordinary pastry brush into the best ever chicken wing utensil

1st Picture is the finished garlic parm chicken wings I made by using this brush.

The 2nd picture I used the brush to evenly coat these muffin holes to make my own version of Starbucks copycat egg cups. I used to use a paper towl to oil baking trays or muffin pans but it absorbed and wasted so much oil. This pastry brush coated it all quickly allowing me to use less oil because none was soaked up by a paper towel.

Yes im in love with my pastry brush. Its the little things in life like a paintbrush / pastry brush that i can multipurpose use 😂

Highly reccomend this brush it spreads amazing and so evenly!

so far so good no issue

Poor quality. The bristles started to come out (and into our food) in the very first use.

Want a pastry brush that doesn’t shed a lot? Try this one. I bought two, and after washing them, I pulled on the bristles to see if shedding would be a problem. One hair from one brush came out. Not bad, in my opinion.
I’m not going to promise that these Winco brushes will never shed, but I can say that they are much better than my old brushes that I finally threw out.
BTW… I never put kitchen brushes in the dishwasher, no do I allow them to soak. I always wash my brushes by hand with dish soap and allow them to dry, bristles angled downward. (to prevent water from getting trapped in the ferrule and down into the wood handle)
Winco is known for making high-quality products, and these brushes, so far, reflect the company’s reputation.

This is the size and brush recommended by America’s Test Kitchen. I absolutely love it – holds and evenly distributes everything from egg wash to BBQ sauce. I put it in the dishwasher with bristles FACING DOWN so water / food particles don’t collect inside the brush — washed beautifully! If you are a baker, consider a second brush just for that use so bristles don’t discolor over time from BBQ sauces, etc. This was FAR BETTER than the silicone “things” offered in the world (those are miserable to use) and the PERFECT WIDTH and BRISTLE DENSITY! Absolutely the best brush ever!

I like that you can purchase these brushes in a variety of widths. I chose the 2″ style for my application. The brush is priced well and is fairly well constructed. I don’t expect to get years of use out of this brush however it has held up to a number of uses and subsequent dishwasher cycles. I hope that no boars were harmed in the making of this brush.

    Muy funcional y excelente precio

La compre no para panadería, sino para dibujo con lápices de grafito y resulto ser muy práctica al momento de difuminar y dar efectos de sombras y luz, la recomiendo, muy buen material.
